This section of Dr. Jeff’s Blog on the Universe includes 3 Cool Resources pages: for teachers, for parents (in support of family activities directed by mom and dad), and for community leaders (who may be interested in programs for their entire community.) I’d like these pages to be a one-stop-shop for wonderful earth and space science education resources on the web, including online learning experiences, opportunities for safe social interaction using Web 2.0 capabilities, downloadable multimedia and inquiry-based activities, and pointers to program opportunities. But you have to help me build these resource pages!
I’ll start each page off with resources from my own organization the National Center for Earth and Space Science Education, and some favorite websites of mine. Then, if you come across a great online resource, let me know by leaving a comment on the appropriate page, and don’t forget to include the URL! I’ll review the web site, and if I think it worthy, I’ll add it to the list of resources together with a short review.
What I’m looking for above all are online resources that have a deep commitment to conceptual understanding, are accurate in content, and are effective in the experience they are supposed to deliver. Let’s build these pages together!
Here are the Cool Resources pages:
For Parents … so families can explore together
For Community Leaders … take your entire community on a Voyage
