Teachable Moments in the News

Copyright 2009 | About this blog

A blog post from the newsroom for the classroom.

There’s an important news story about climate change, or an amazing discovery of a new Earth-sized planet orbiting another star. It‘s being reported on all the major media outlets. Yet current science rarely gets into the classroom, and is rarely discussed at any depth at home. I’ll help you make that news story a teachable moment in the classroom and at home. I’ll make it understandable, and address what the news story means to all of us. I’ll even provide curricular connections, and pointers to lessons and web resources. From the newsroom to the classroom, with a little help from Dr. Jeff.
