Then when their error is pointed out to them they either dismiss it out of hand or choose the "well I don't trust scientists to do science" route - maybe the politics should be removed from the equation and we should just do right by the planet as indicated by the scientific consensus, whether we are the "first cause" or not. I must say that I am heavily disappointed that such a high-standard UK Newspaper as The Times should be employing people to report science who cannot perform the basics of research so integral to what they are reporting.
